Condolence From Tamyra Stright http://theoretbourgeois.frontrunnerpro.com/runtime/152786/runtime.php?SiteId=152786&NavigatorId=663081&ItemId=2075849&op=tributeCondolenceView&viewOpt=dpaneOnly&gid=condolence6731214 Condolences Wed, 04 Mar 2015 20:49:05 EST Story shared: Never Walk Home... http://theoretbourgeois.frontrunnerpro.com/runtime/152786/runtime.php?SiteId=152786&NavigatorId=663081&ItemId=2075849&op=tributeFamilyStories&viewOpt=dpaneOnly&gid=story5411910 It is with very fond memories that I will always think of my childhood neighbour, Mrs. Ketchabaw.  When I was in highschool, I liked to hang out at the Morley's store before coming down the East Road home for the night.  But when I did that, probably to buy and eat a Coffee Crisp as much as I equally wanted to spend time with my friend Terri, I had to walk the 2 miles home.  But it never failed, I never had to walk all the way home.  Sooner or later, before I reached the church (halfway) on my journey, Mrs. Ketchabaw would come down the road travelling home from her bus route that took her almost to Alban, next door to the Hotel Beaudejour to be exact.  She often managed to meet me walking down the road as she came back sometime after 4 pm, due to the length and distance of her bus route.  She would always stop and ask me if I wanted a ride, I can't remember if I ever said no, because she always said "Hop in!".  So I did.  I can't honestly say that I often stayed behind at the corner (at the store) because I was confident that I would get a ride from Mrs. Ketchabaw, but I was always glad to see that big orange school bus coming up behind me.

Thank you Mrs. Ketchabaw for being a caring, special and loving lady.  We will forever appreciate how you were such a good friend and daily dinner companion to my grandmother Elena in her years after her husband Harold passed away.  The East Road will never be the same without you!  And Keely, my daughter says that no one could ever make date squares as good as you!
